During the latter half of the 20th century, socialists, communists, other progressives and artists lived in a community of small houses and cabins in Croton-on-Hudson in the lower Hudson Valley of New York. Red Hill continues to describe this community, partly as a historical pejorative by some, but mostly as a fond memory of the social activists and artists who once lived here.
Red Hill Films -- located in this historic neighborhood -- engages documentary themes and issues of important social concerns. Our films have a particular focus on activities of dissent by communities and individuals seeking positive social change.
