Jerusalem Shopkeepe
TRT: 6 min
2005 A shopkeeper in Jerusalem’s old city makes an offer to sell an antique icon and then tells the story of the plight of his people, the Palestinians. His references are to the historical unfairness and abandonment the Palestinians have suffered. He talks of the steadfastness and attachment to the land that will prevail and sends a message to the American President on how peace can unfold. This is all set amongst the gold and silver glitter of antique Greek and Russian Orthodox icons of his shop.
